Description
Rathven Old School is a building dating from around 1800, possibly incorporating earlier materials. It is a two-storey, irregular south-facing house with five bays, which was originally two bays plus three bays. The exterior is finished in harled rubble with contrasting painted margins. The central door serves the three-bay section, while there is a blocked door that once served the former two-bay section on the west side. The first floor features three small windows with varied glazing. The building has coped end stacks and a local slate roof. At the rear, there is a single-storey, two-bay wing with a piended roof and a ridge stack.
