Description
117, 119, and 121 High Street in Forres is a building dated 1748, which underwent significant alterations in the mid-19th century. It has two storeys and an attic, with a total of six bays. The exterior is rendered and lined to resemble ashlar, featuring painted margins. On the ground floor, there are Victorian shopfronts flanking a narrow entrance to a pend that is placed asymmetrically. The building has three gabled dormers that extend from below the wallhead, with the central dormer featuring a crowstepped design and a bipartite window with segmentally arched lights. The windows have 2-pane glazing, and the crowstepped gables are topped with a slate roof. The entrance to number 119, accessed through the pend, includes a curved hood-mould and a reused datestone.
