Description

Horace's Bridge is a late 18th century rustic bridge that spans the River South Esk. It features a semicircular arched single span, constructed from unhewn stones that are set randomly to promote the growth of moss and ferns. The bridge has a rubble arch ring and rubble coping, with splayed wing walls. At each end, there are rusticated terminal piers topped with polished caps. Additionally, there is a Latin inscription on a panel located at the center of the west elevation.
