Description

Braidwood Bridge, built around 1930, features elements from 1811. It is a single span road bridge over the River South Esk. The bridge has a reinforced concrete arch ring with coped edges, supported by concrete stanchions. The parapet is made of bull-faced, squared, and snecked sandstone, with polished, coursed sandstone refuges. On the inside of the east parapet, there is a tooled panel that reads, "Erected by ROBERT DUNDAS OF ARNISTON Chief Baron of the Exchequer A.D. 1811."
