Description
Glede Knowe Sheephouse, located at Huntly Cot, is an earlier 19th century single-storey sheep house with a rectangular plan. The building was rebuilt by the current owner in the late 20th century using predominantly original materials. It features flat coped, random rubble walls that rise to a central gateway on the southeast side, creating gables at the roof ends. The structure has long and short quoins, and the exterior wall to the left of the gateway is supported by a battered buttress.
Inside, the sheephouse has square plan columns made of tooled, squared, and snecked sandstone, with occasional brick snecks. There are timber lintels and a pantiled roof with a terracotta ridge. The interior walls have hecks, and there is an opening in the center of the southwest wall, with boarded timber gables on the flanking blocks.
