Description

Woodville is a villa built in the earlier to mid-19th century, featuring two storeys and three bays. The east elevation is constructed of stugged, squared, and snecked rubble, while the other elevations are made of random rubble with ashlar dressings. It has a base course, eaves cornice, and a blocking course, along with raised margins and angle margins.

On the east elevation facing Eskbank Road, there is a painted pilastered doorpiece at the center, which includes a cornice and deep blocking course. It features a panelled door with a two-pane strip fanlight above, leading into a vestibule with an encaustic tiled floor and a finely etched two-pane internal fanlight. To the left, there is a full-height advanced panel, with a bipartite window and cill course at both the ground and first floors. The remaining bays have regular fenestration, and there is a decorative cast-iron window box holder for the central window.

The west elevation has a stair window at the center and regular fenestration in the outer bays. Attached at the center is a single-storey, piend-roofed kitchen block made of rubble, which includes a door to the north, two windows to the west, and one window to the south, with a stack located at the northwest corner.

On the south elevation, there is a window to the left of center at the ground level. The north elevation is blank, featuring a brick screen wall with a garden door to the right.

The villa has a plate glass margin to margin pane stair window and is topped with grey slates on the piend and platform roof. There are wallhead stacks on the north and south, with part replacement on the north. A low ashlar coped rubble retaining wall with corniced and chamfered gatepiers is present, along with a modern garage attached to the brick wall to the north.
