Description
The folly at Dalhousie Castle, built in the later 18th century, features a circular plan. It is constructed from randomly arranged unhewn stones, with tooled pink sandstone rubble lining. There are pointed-arched doorways on the west and north sides, both adorned with polished dressings and topped by bull's-eye or oculus window openings. An elliptical window opening is located on the south side, while another bull's-eye or oculus window opening can be found on the east side. The structure has been roofless since 1998.
