Description
The Leading Light on West Quay in Port Glasgow was built in the 1860s. It is a tall, slender, cylindrical lighthouse that stands about 40 feet high. The structure is bell-shaped at the base and features a cornice and a domed lantern. The lighthouse remains unaltered and is painted in a black and white chequered pattern. It is secured to a stone base with thick bolts. The main shaft is divided into four sections, and the door is also made of cast iron and includes a cornice.
