Description

The lighthouse at West Quay in Port Glasgow was likely built in the 1860s and remains unaltered. It features a stout, tapering cast-iron cylinder mounted on a circular stepped stone base, situated on a rock that is visible at low tide. The lighthouse is painted black with a black and white chequered pattern. It has a plain rail balcony with a "SLOW" sign facing west and a triangular paned lantern topped with a dome. Access to the doorway is provided by iron steps.
