Description
St John The Evangelist Episcopal Church, located on Union Street in Greenock, is a Gothic-style building designed by the architectural firm Paley & Austin from Lancaster, completed in 1877. The church features a four-bay nave supported by alternately octagonal and circular piers, a clerestory, and a king-post roof. It includes a chancel and a side chapel, as well as a southeast tower topped with a pyramid-shaped slate roof. The church is noted for its fine detailing throughout.
