Description
Comar Lodge is a late 18th-century house, remodelled in the earlier 19th century and likely built upon an earlier core. It is a two-storey and attic, symmetrical, three-bay house facing south. The exterior is harled. The centre door on the south elevation is concealed behind a square porch with a shaped blocking course. Ground floor windows have been enlarged, and later gabletted dormers have been added to the outer bays. The rear elevation is also symmetrical, with a centre door masked by a square porch featuring a piended slate roof and a side entrance. The rear fenestration is symmetrical except for a small, later bathroom window. Multi-pane glazing is used throughout. The building has coped end stacks, a modern flue at the east gable, and a slate roof with projecting eaves.
Inside, the first-floor drawing room is simply panelled and features a chimney piece dated 1740 with the initials RC. Fielded-panelled window shutters are also present. The staircase has turned balusters.
