Description
Biggins House in Murkle dates from around 1860 and is a long rubble steading range that runs east-west, with its long south elevation facing the road. The building includes a barn with a loft entrance located in the west gable, while the eastern half contains stables and a byre. The byre features trevises, a drainage channel, and a cross passage, all made of flagstones. There are also two open cart bays in the extreme eastern bays. The roof is constructed of large sections of Caithness flagstone, and the building measures approximately 60 feet in length.
