Description
This is a large walled garden, constructed between 1814 and 1815 for William Chisholm of Chisholm. Designed and built by Thomas Muirison, the garden features high rubble walls reinforced with semi-circular rubble buttresses, topped with tooled ashlar copes. A tall, round-headed arched entrance is located on the east side, and is currently closed by double plank doors. The garden was built at a cost of £717.16.2p. Records from the National Monuments Record of Scotland document the garden’s construction.
