Description
This is a later 19th century range of cottages, built as a single storey. It has a symmetrical frontage of six bays. The entrances are located in bays two and five. The cottages are constructed from grey rubble stone with tooled red sandstone dressings, and the reveals are painted. The rear elevation is harled. Doorways are sheltered by gabled canopies supported by wooden columns. Windows are 4-pane sashes. A continuous outshot extends to the rear, slightly shorter than the elevation itself, and incorporates canopied entrances for cottages number one and four at each end. The roof is slate-covered, with coped ridge and end stacks. These are estate cottages and have an unusual internal plan. The statutory address is 1, 2, 3, and 4 Old Ground Cottages, Invergarry.
