Description

This is an 1820-24 house located on Dunrobin Street, Helmsdale. It is a two-storey, symmetrical building with three bays. The exterior is harled with contrasting painted margins. The house has a central front door, with smaller windows on the first floor. The windows have four panes of glazing, and a painted base course runs along the front. There are chimney stacks at each end of the building, and a slate roof. Dunrobin Street was completed by 1824, and the house was transferred from James Loch to the Countess of Sutherland in 1824. Records detailing this transfer can be found in the National Library of Scotland's Sutherland Papers (Department 313/111/Box 24).
