Description

4 Argyle Square in Wick is a semi-detached pair of town houses designed by Thomas Telford around 1840. These two-storey homes have a symmetrical, rectangular plan and feature gabled roofs, facing northeast onto Argyle Square. The exterior is made of squared and tooled, long coursed Caithness stone slabs, with a regular arrangement of windows on the front and an irregular layout at the rear, including blind gable ends.

For the principal elevation of Nos 4 and 5, there are three bays, with a door located to the left, a pend in the center, and a blocked window above. The entrance has been knocked through to No 5, and there is a blocked door to the left of the pend.

No 6 has a principal elevation with a door on the right side.

The interior was not seen in 2001. The houses feature plate glass sash and case windows, grey slate roofs, coped gable stacks with a string course, and cast-iron rainwater goods.
