Description
Gorston Cottage is a traditional single-storey, three-bay cottage built in the mid-19th century, with later heightening. The cottage is constructed of whitewashed rubble, featuring rounded angles and thick battered walls, which have been heightened by approximately 1 foot (30 centimeters). At the wallhead angles, there are concrete projecting triangular corbels. The entrance is located in the center and faces south, featuring a double leaf plank door. The windows have been slightly enlarged and have 4-pane glazing. There is a small rear center window that provides light to the room between the hearths. The cottage has renewed paired ridge stacks and a piended slate roof.
