Description

The Dovecot at Dingwall Castle, located on Castle Street, dates from around 1825. This squat, two-stage, crenellated octagonal folly dovecote is constructed from red ashlar sandstone. It features entrances on the north side at both the ground and first floors. The ground floor has blind cruciform arrow loops, while the first stage has round-headed openings on each face, which are blind to the north and east. Inside, there are 27 nesting boxes and a small fireplace on the ground floor.
