Description
West Lodge and Gate Piers at Holme Rose is an early 19th century single-storey, three-bay house that serves as a gate lodge. The building is harled and features a central door, with small three-light windows on either side of the entrance. These windows have moulded mullions and lattice pane glazing. At the rear, there is a projecting wing that includes a modern porch in the re-entrant, as well as some 12-pane glazing. The roof is a deep-eaved piended slate roof, supported by a pair of diamond-shaped, centre ridge corniced stacks and a corniced stack at the rear wallhead.
The gate piers are later 19th century cast-iron trellis piers, accompanied by matching railings on either side.
