Description

Crask Bridge is a circa 1815 rubble bridge constructed around 1815 by Thomas Telford as part of the Parliamentary Road (now the A836) connecting Bonar Bridge and Tongue. The bridge features twin arches constructed from rubble with dressed rubble arch rings and a parapet incorporating cone details. Shallow end buttresses and splayed approaches are also present. The bridge spans the Chraisg Burn. Further details are provided in A.R.B. Haldane’s New Ways Through the Glens (1962), pages 139, 188, and 195.
