Description
Bighouse Farm Steading is a later 19th-century steading of a U-plan, single-story design. The arrangement creates a south-facing courtyard enclosed by a later semi-circular coped rubble wall. The ground slopes to the west, resulting in a lower ground floor level with access in the west gable. The steading includes blocked cart arches and has a slate roof. A semi-circular enclosing wall was added after 1873 and is visible on the Ordnance Survey map of approximately 1906. The statutory address is Bighouse Mains Steading.
