Description
Kulmony, originally Duror Parish Manse, is a single-storey, five-bay, H-plan building constructed in 1826, designed by Thomas Telford, with later additions. The exterior is harled with painted, tooled ashlar margins. The principal garden front, facing southeast, features a central door flanked by bay windows added in the later 19th century. The windows are mostly original two-pane sashes, although new windows are present in the northeast return gable. The building has piended slate roofs and a pair of ridge coped stacks. Later additions to the rear wings have formed a small rear service court. The New Statistical Account (1841) and Groome’s Ordnance Gazetteer of Scotland (1883) provide further details.
