Description
East Cottage in Aberchalder dates from around 1900 and is a single-storey building featuring a wide three-bay range that comprises two dwellings. The exterior is finished with white harling and has contrasting brick dressings. The entrance to Railway Cottage is located in the west gable, while the entrance to Mo Dhachaidh is found in a single-bay weatherboarded extension on the east side. The windows have segmental heads, with bipartite designs in the outer bays, all showcasing pronounced brick long and short detailing, and are connected by band and cill courses. The upper sashes feature multi-pane glazing. The building has a deep base course, brick long and short angles, end stacks, and slate roofs with projecting eaves.
