Lismore House, 115 Kelvin Drive, Glasgow

Lismore House is a picturesque Italianate villa built around 1860, situated alone with views over the Botanic Gardens. The building has two storeys and a basement, featuring an asymmetrical plan and elevations. It is constructed of stugged ashlar with polished, rusticated quoins. The windows are sash and case with plate glass glazing, and the roof is covered with piended slate.

On the northeast elevation, there is a two-storey canted window along with two additional windows, and a three-storey section. The entrance tower is located in the northern re-entrant angle, featuring a square-headed door with a rectangular fan light above it. The first-floor window has a boldly arched hood, and there are bipartite windows in the upper or prospect room on the northeast and northwest faces. The tower is topped with a deeply bracketed cornice and a shallow piended roof that includes an elaborate cast-iron weathervane.

The northwest elevation features a five-light bowed, two-storey window to the west of the tower. The southwest elevation has a very plain, nearly symmetrical window arrangement. The property is also marked by gatepiers and gates, which include chamfered and domed piers (two pairs, one simple) with cast-iron gates.
