Description
125-127 Candleriggs is a commercial corner building in Glasgow, designed by F A MacDonald & Partners, reinforced concrete engineers. It was designed in 1937 and completed in late 1948. The building is three stories tall and features wide bays flanking a canted angle. It has a reinforced concrete structure that is faced with ashlar and includes painted metal panels vertically positioned between 4-light metal-framed windows, all set in panels. A blocking course is raised at an angle. Inside, there are reset stones that read "1597" and "Blissit be ye Lord our God for all his giftis." The stones were originally part of a building removed from this site and placed here in 1939, with the original building having been rebuilt in 1824.
