Description
188 West Regent Street in Glasgow is an end terrace classical block of flatted houses, designed by Robert Scott and built between 1831 and 1832. The building has three storeys and a basement, featuring a façade with four by five bays constructed of polished ashlar.
The entrance at No 188 West Regent Street includes a pilastered corniced doorpiece with a pulvinated frieze, while the upper floor at No 116 Blythswood Street has a tall Ionic pilastered corniced doorpiece. The ground floor has a cill band, with recessed windows set in an arcade, moulded cills, and plain aprons. The first floor features architraved, corniced windows with a cill band, and the third floor has architraved windows. The building is topped with an eaves cornice and a blocking course.
Originally designed as flatted houses, the building has since been altered for use as offices.
