52-58 Gordon Street, Glasgow

52-58 Gordon Street is a four-storey warehouse built around 1855 and altered in 1927 by P J Westwood and Emberton. It is located on a corner and features modern shops on the ground floor. The building has a layout of 7 x 11 bays, with an altered corner bay, and is constructed of painted ashlar.

The façade includes sash and case windows set in architraves, with a console cornice at the first floor and cornices with lugged and shouldered architraves at the second floor, which also has a cill band. The second floor is distinguished by a richly sculpted main modillion cornice. The third floor features simple lugged architraves with a cornice above, and there are later set-back dormers on the slate roof.

On the return to Drury Street, the first bay mirrors the main elevation, while the five additional bays have simplified detailing. The first floor windows are corniced, and the second floor windows have lugged architraves on a cill band, complemented by a graduated cornice at the second floor.
