Description
This building at 271 Garrioch Road in Glasgow dates from around 1870 and is a three-storey house with a basement and three bays. The front is made of ashlar stone, with a channelled finish at the ground level, while the rear elevation is constructed from rubble. The entrance features wide architraved doorpieces topped with bracketed cornices, leading to a pair of well-crafted panelled storm doors. All windows are architraved and have cill courses on each floor, with aprons at the ground floor, cornices on the first floor, and brackets supporting the cills on the second floor. The windows are sash and case style with plate glass glazing. The building is topped with a modillion cornice and has a modern tiled roof. There are also good cast-iron railings leading up to the steps.
