111, 113 West Regent Street, Glasgow

111 and 113 West Regent Street in Glasgow is a commercial building reconstructed around 1870 to 1875 and altered by James Thomson in 1885. It features three stories, a basement, and a mansard attic, with a five-bay façade designed in a Classical style.

The central entrance on West Regent Street is accessed via steps that extend over the basement. This entrance is framed by Roman Ionic columns that are two-thirds fluted, supporting a swagged portico adorned with paterae in the frieze and a modillion cornice. The building has sash and case windows, with the ground and first-floor windows set in architraves and corniced at the ground floor. The first-floor windows are consoled, while the second-floor windows sit on a moulded cill band with margins that step up over the lintels, all topped by a continuous moulded eaves architrave and an eaves cornice. The original basement shop remains intact.

There is an irregular nine-bay return to Wellington Street, featuring a consoled doorpiece, some blind windows, and some two-light windows with stone mullions. The first and second bays, as well as the seventh and eighth bays, have paired windows.
