Description
The Church Hall at South Shawlands Church, located at 12-14 Regwood Street in Glasgow, was designed by Miller and Black and built between 1912 and 1913. It stands on a corner site next to the church, which was constructed in 1909. The building is made of bull-faced red ashlar with polished dressings and features slate roofs.
The church exhibits a Perpendicular Gothic style, with its main gabled front facing Regwood Street. It has a wide entrance and a large traceried window above, flanked by pinnacled buttresses. The flank windows are arranged in bays at both the ground and gallery levels, which are vertically linked. Inside, there is a gallery with halls located underneath. A notable feature is the stained glass chancel window created by Douglas Hamilton in 1954. The gabled hall range to the south also follows the Gothic style, presenting a gabled front to Deanston Drive.
Additionally, there is an iron-railed boundary wall along the street.
