223, 225 West George Street, Glasgow

This building, located at 223 and 225 West George Street in Glasgow, dates from around 1830 and is a three-storey and basement flatted classical end terrace block. It consists of four by five bays, with the second bay from the north on West Campbell Street and the fourth bay on the second floor being blind. The exterior is finished in polished ashlar stone.

The entrances to the upper and ground floors feature a painted double anta with a mutule corniced doorpiece, and both have double-leaf panelled doors. All windows are sash and case, set within architraves. The ground floor windows have corbelled cills and cornicing, while the first floor includes a cill band and corniced windows. The second floor windows have dropped architraves. The building has an eaves cornice and a blocking course, with two reduced corniced wallhead stacks facing West Campbell Street. The roof is piended and covered with slate.
