Description
60, 62, 64, 66, and 68 Howard Street is a four-storey warehouse built around 1868, featuring an attic and basement. The building is constructed of ashlar stone, which is painted at the ground level. It has a moulded cornice above the ground floor and string courses that separate the first, second, and third floors, along with a cill course on the third floor and a moulded eaves cornice.
An off-centre pilastered doorway is located to the right, flanked by modern windows that maintain the original divisions. There is also a carriage entrance in the outer left bay. The windows are arranged in pairs or threes, separated by broad pilasters, with a raised giant pilaster dividing the groups of windows in a pattern of 2-3-7-3. The building features a glazed mansard attic.
The first and second floors have plate-glass glazing in sash and case windows, while the third floor has late metal-framed windows. Decorative railings are present in front of each basement opening at the ground level.
