Description
This building at 82 Howard Street in Glasgow is a four-storey and attic warehouse, constructed around 1868. It features 15 bays and has a curved eastern end that faces Maxwell Street. The exterior is made of cream ashlar sandstone, which is painted at the ground level. There is a moulded cornice above the ground floor, with a parapet at the eaves. A string course runs between the first and second floors, and there is a cill course at the third floor.
The main entrance is marked by a pilastered doorway topped with a mutule-adorned segmental pediment. It includes a semi-circular fanlight with a keystone and a panelled door. Above the entrance, there are tripartite windows, with the outer lights being blind. The windows are arranged in pairs of threes, with some being blind and a single bay on the outer left. Broad pilasters separate the grouped windows, while full-height giant pilasters divide the bays. The plate-glass sash and case windows are tall and narrow on the first floor, gradually decreasing in size by the third floor.
The building is topped with a slated mansard roof.
