Description
32 Fox Street in Glasgow is a four-storey building with an attic, likely designed by Colin Menzies and dated 1925. This modern movement warehouse features five symmetrical bays. The ground floor is constructed of black bricks, while the upper floors are made of red bricks, creating a polychrome effect. Sandstone lintels, keystones, and a mutulated cornice enhance the design. Each recessed bay has jambs and arches piped with contrasting chamfered brick above the ground floor. The windows are recessed and flanked by pilasters on the ground floor, with giant pilaster strips on the first and third floors. The bays are segmentally headed, and the ground floor windows are segmentally arched, topped with a moulded cornice. All windows feature keystones, which are larger and also serve as eaves brackets for the fourth floor. The building is topped with a glazed, five-bay mansard attic, which is crowned with simple railings.
