Description

Circa 1860, in David Rhind palazzo style. Italian

Renaissance commercial building. 3 storeys, 7 bays.

Modern ground floor shops. Ashlar with rusticated

quoins. Central entry at No 87 with pediment and

Corinthian polished granite columns. 1st floor: central

3-light Corinthian columned and pilastered window,

sculpted pediment with putti. End windows Corinthian

pilastered tripartites with segmental pediments;

consoled, pedimented windows between; Greek-key frieze

forms 2nd floor cill. 2nd floor: windows elaborate

lugged architraves with supporting scrolls and sculpted

heads; guilloche frieze, consoled cornice. 2 arch-

linked, channelled chimney shafts rise behind cornice.
