Description

G S Kenneth, architect; circa 1902. 4-bay polished red

sandstone end-terrace house. 2 storeys and basement. Steps

oversailing basement to recessed panelled door with

astragalled fanlight and heavily consoled hood. To right,

full-height 4-light bow windows to conical roof with finial.

To extreme left at 1st floor angle, corbelled 4-light bow

oriel with bell-cast roof and lead finial. Otherwise, single

light windows with bracketted cills at ground floor. Lower

sash plate glass; upper sash 6 or 9 pane glazing pattern.

Band course at ground and at eaves; timber modillions support overhanging eaves slate roofs, tile crested ridge, corniced

axial stacks.

Polished ashlar flank to N with advanced blank stugged square

bay to ground with slate roof. Above, bipartite windows at

1st rising through eaves to attic. Tall wallhead stacks.

Low coped ashlar wall to road supporting cast-iron railings

(modern) with intermediate piers. Square piers linked by

cast-iron parapet at steps.
