Description
26 Minerva Street in Glasgow is a four-storey classical tenement designed by Alexander Kirkland in 1853. It is part of a continuous design with St Vincent Crescent and features 16 bays, with the fourth bay from the south being blind. The ground floor is finished in polished ashlar with a channelled appearance, and there is a basement band that forms a cill band for the ground floor. The building has a plain frieze and a cornice at the ground floor level. Most of the windows are sash and case style, set within architraves and featuring four-pane glazing. The entrances at No 26 and No 32 Minerva Street are highlighted by projecting Doric pilasters with independent entablatures. The windows on the first and second floors are corniced, and the building has an eaves cornice, ridge stacks, and a slate roof.
