Description
The Old Stables, dating to around 1840, is an ashlar building with seven windows. The stonework is smooth, but features a rougher, stugged texture at the first floor level. The original windows retain their glass panes, and the roof is slated. At the rear, a separate section is constructed of whin rubble and is also two storeys high, with hoist gablets in the first-floor elevation. This rear section includes semi-elliptical and segmental arches. The building’s group value recognises its contribution to the surrounding area. The listing applies to both the interior and exterior of the building. The statutory address is Cafe Restaurant, Craigdene and Cruachan together with garage and store on east side of North Wynd at rear, Main Street East End Colinsburgh.
