Description
Grangemuir House is a late 18th century building with mid 19th century additions. It originally features five bays by two bays, is two storeys high with an attic and basement, and has its entrance front facing south. The exterior is harled with painted ashlar window and angle margins, a band course, cornice, and blocking course. The south front has advanced centre bays with a pediment, featuring a central corniced entrance doorway that is accessed by railed steps. There is an oculus in the pediment and a piended slate roof. The mid 19th century alterations include the extension of the front by two bays to the east and the addition of a canted bay window at ground floor level to the left of the entrance. The east front, also from the mid 19th century, has a pedimented gable to the left above a new entrance door in a single storey projecting porch. At the rear, there is a single storey service wing and a court enclosed by a rubble wall, which has a flagged cope and a pair of rectangular gate-piers at the centre of the north front.
