Description
Mayview East, formerly Primrose Brae and a ruinous cottage adjoining, is an early 19th-century building situated on Main Street and St Andrews Road, Kilconquhar. Originally two separate single-storey structures, these were later combined and raised to two storeys with a central door and windows. The building is constructed of whin rubble with droved dressings. Primrose Brae was subsequently harled, and its windows altered to a semi-octagonal shape, and covered with pantiles. The surrounding ground was raised to accommodate the two-storey addition. The building is listed at Grade C for its group value, recognising its contribution to the surrounding area. This listing extends to both the interior and exterior of the building, as appropriate.
