Description
The Manse, part of Largo Parish Church, was built in 1770 and significantly altered and extended in 1822. It is a two-storey building with an attic, originally three bays wide, and is harled with painted margins. The central entrance is framed by a moulded architrave and features bracketed sills. Each floor of the gable ends contains a window, including the attic. Most windows are plate-glass sashes. The roof is slate-covered with straight skews and corniced ashlar end stacks. A two-storey rear wing, dating from the 19th century, has three bays and incorporates a staircase in the re-entrant angle. The Manse is located in Upper Largo, also known as Kirkton of Largo, and is referenced in Leighton’s History of Fife.
