Description

Pitlair House is a 17th-century mansion that has undergone later alterations. The building features an inset stone in the porch gable dated 1679. Originally a small, two-storey structure, it was enlarged in 1907 by T M Cappon to include a double, three-window bow front. The exterior is harled and whitewashed, with a crow-stepped gabled entrance porch that has a datestone above. The ground floor has a bowed section on the west front, which has been significantly extended at the rear. The roofs are slated, and the original glazing consists of sash windows.
