Description
Daft Mill is a picturesque former corn mill, dated 1809, that is now used as a farm store. The building is traditionally constructed from rubble with dressed quoins and features skew gables. A Celtic cross is located on the south gable, and the roofs are covered with pantiles. The mill is mainly two-storey and has various plain openings, which are smaller towards the eaves. There is a truncated pyramidal roof over the kiln and an original stone forestair with ramped sides on the north gable end, along with a segmental arch at ground level.
Adjoining the mill are later single-storey and loft farm buildings arranged in a Z shape on plan. These are also rubble built with pantile roofs, featuring hipped and skew gables, and a loft door in the north range that has a swept roof.
