Description
1 St James Place in Kinghorn is an 18th-century irregular pair of houses that form a short terrace.
No 1 is a 2-storey, 3-bay house with the bays grouped as 1-2, finished in harl. The southeast entrance elevation features a ground floor with a boarded timber door located to the right of the center, a window to the right of the door, and another window to the left, which is behind a forestair leading to No 3. The first floor has three windows, and there is a modern rooflight positioned off-centre to the right.
Nos 2 and 3 are 2-storey houses with an attic, also featuring a 3-bay layout and crowsteps on the right gable. They are finished in painted render with margins. The southeast entrance elevation shows a ground floor with a door in an advanced bay at the right of the center, and another door at the first floor above it. There are windows in the center and left bays on the first floor, along with modern catslide dormer windows above the center and left bays.
The windows in Nos 1 and 2 have small-pane glazing patterns in timber sash and case frames, while No 3 features plate glass glazing in pivot windows. The roofs are covered with modern pantiles, and there are broad gablehead stacks with cans, as well as ashlar-coped skews.
