Description
Preston Lodge is a 17th century townhouse, dated 1623, but likely mostly reconstructed in the late 17th century. It features a square, three-storey ashlar fronted block with a pavilion roof and twin front projections facing Bonnygate. The first floor has pilasters and moulded windows, along with a Roman Doric doorpiece added at a later date. The interior is of outstanding interest, showcasing a grand scale and a balustraded staircase. Notable features include a Corinthian column chimneypiece in the old dining room, among others.
