Description
Morton of Blebo is a farmstead, originally dating to 1773, with significant additions and alterations in the 19th century. Initially, it comprised a long, low, pantiled range running north-south and facing west. A later, broader, and taller return wing was added to the east at the south end, constructed from rubble with ashlar margins. The northern part of the original range is two stories high, with ground-floor openings that have been altered. There are three small loft openings at first floor level. At the center is a three-bay cottage, distinguished by a dated lintel above the centre door. The three bays to the south were raised to two stories around 1900, featuring gabled wallhead dormers on the west side and catslides on the east. This section has a slated roof and rectangular, corniced end stacks. The lower range continues to the south, incorporating a modern cart opening before returning to the east, with a piended roof over the west section and a gable towards the east. A cartshed block with a loft above was added around 1900 at the north end, returning to the east. This block is constructed from rubble with droved ashlar margins and has a slated, piended roof. Facing east, opposite the main range, are two single-story pantiled cartsheds; the northern cartshed is piended, while the southern cartshed is larger and gabled. Modern sheds located to the east are not included in the listing. The statutory address for the farmstead is Morton of Blebo Farmsteading.
