Description
Blythe's Tower, built in 1812, is a four-stage square tower that stands 52 feet high. It is constructed of random rubble with a base course and features ashlar dividing courses that mark the set-back stages. The tower retains remnants of a battlemented parapet and has a segmental-headed door with voussoirs.
On the west elevation, the first stage has a tall, narrow, segmental-arched door, while the second stage is blank. The third and fourth stages each have a window flanked by small openings. The south elevation features a blank first stage, two narrow openings in the second stage, and a window in the third and fourth stages. The east elevation has blank first and second stages, with a window and flanking small openings in the third and fourth stages. The north elevation also has a blank first stage, four narrow openings in the second stage, and a window in the third and fourth stages.
