Description
St Monance Harbour is a natural tidal harbour featuring three piers and boat-builders slipways. The Central Pier is 300 feet long, cased in cement, and includes fabric from before 1828. The East Pier, designed by David and Thomas Stevenson in 1865, has an L-plan. There are shuttered mass-concrete breakwater additions to the south and southwest, added in 1879. The West Pier was reconstructed by Charles Stevenson in 1902.
