Description

Natural tidal harbour with three piers and boat-builders slipways. Central Pier: 300 feet long, cased in cement, incorporating pre-1828 fabric. East Pier: David and Thomas Stevenson, 1865, L-plan. Shuttered mass-concrete breakwater additions, 1879 to S and SW. West Pier: Charles Stevenson, reconstructed 1902.
