Description
The Harbour at Port Seton, designed by engineers D & T Stevenson in the 1880s, is a concrete tidal harbour covering approximately 8 acres. The inner harbour is roughly D-shaped, featuring a northern pier that measures 730 feet and includes a hammerhead. The southern pier runs along the shore, while the middle pier projects to enclose the harbour. An outer breakwater extends to the northwest, measuring 450 feet, with a short projecting feature to the north at its end. The northern pier has a protecting wall that reaches up to 10 feet high and includes access steps. The middle pier is paved with whinstone setts and features cast-iron capstans.
