Description
This is a late 18th century steading built in a U-shape. The west range’s outer face has four cart openings in the lower, northern bays, with a block to the south containing a loft above. The construction is of whin rubble with long and short ashlar dressings. The courtyard ranges originally all had lofts, and feature a variety of elliptically or segmentally arched openings, some now covered by modern lintels. A forestair is present in the east range, leading to an altered loft entrance, along with one swept dormer. The roof is a mix of slate and pantiles. The steading has undergone considerable alteration for its current use as a riding school and stables, achieved in a sensitive manner. The farmhouse has been altered and is not included in the listing.
